Final Bulletin (South Wales Trip 9th to 11th April 2010)

Following my last Bulletin, here are a few additional points about the trip.

On Friday morning the coach will pickup in Radcliffe (bus stop at Grange Hall) at 7.40am and depart at 8am.The next pick up will be at the usual place on Davies Rd., Westbridgford 8.10am. It will then head for the M42/M5 where a stop will be made at Strensham services (M5/M50 Jct), thereafter on to Llandaff Cathedral. Our coach will be a Double Decker, supplied by Johnson’s, one of Sharpes working partners; the spec. is exactly the same as Sharpes own vehicle, complete with toilet etc.

After our recital at Llandaff Cathedral, you will see from the itinerary that there is time for lunch. I am informed that there are plenty of eating establishments in the vicinity of the Cathedral. I would urge you to be on the coach at departure time as it will be Friday afternoon and traffic tends to build up.

Dunvant choir will be charging our wives the admission fee of £5 to the Friday evening concert and I am holding twenty two tickets for this.

Our free time on Saturday will be taken up with a coach trip on the Gower Peninsula. We will leave the hotel at 11am and head for Southgate, about 45mins travel.  At the National Trust car park we will alight and have time to walk along the cliff tops and take in the breathtaking views out towards Oxwich, Pobbles and Three Cliffs bays. Our return journey will take us to Mumbles in time for some lunch (own arrangements), here again we can wander along the Pier to the Life Boat station, or up the steps on to the headland and find some more breathtaking views. We will leave Mumbles at about 2.45pm to arrive back at the hotel for 3.30pm.  If the weather is not good, we will head for Swansea city and spend some time there.

Our spare time on Sunday morning between breakfast and gathering for lunch is short, only about two hours, so we will leave this to individual choice. I would remind you that the hotel does have a pool and gym and we are free to use these as we please.

In my last communication I appealed for a compere for the concerts, this has now been resolved as the choirs are using their own people. Many thanks to those who offered their services.

For your information, hotel details are Ramada Jarvis, Phoenix Way, Swansea SA7 9EG Tel 01792 310330.

Teg
