REPERTOIRE
Part of the Choir's appeal lies in the fact that it performs music spanning a period of over four hundred years. William Byrd's AVE VERUM CORPUS written at the time of the Tudors, has been received at Exeter Cathedral with as much enthusiasm as was THERES NOTHING LIKE A DAME on a luxury cruise liner. More recently, as part of our activities on our Rome Tour last september, we sang three latin pieces while participating in the mass in two of Rome’s great Basilicas. The pieces were AVE VERUM, AVE MARIA and SANCTUS from Cherubini’s Requiem.
The choir is always adding to the repertoire, including the whole Requiem by Cherubini and four Beatles numbers. The latter additions were inspired by our invitation to participate in a Beatles tribute concert at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall in september 2007.
Although no male voice music program would complete without the inclusion of at least one of those magnificent Welsh Hymns such as LLANFAIR, the Choir has a very English character, never better illustrated than by Ralph Vaughn Williams' beautiful LINDEN LEA.
As the Choir has a current repertoire well in access of one hundred pieces it is not reasonable to list them all here. However our CDs entitled and ON WINGS OF SONG illustrate the breadth of our repertoire. The 17 tracks on ....................................................... are:

While the CD “On Wings of Song” showcases the following:
The Choir has made several other recordings and one of these, featuring a selection of mainly Christmas music, is a very popular stocking filler at that season.
